Gift and Decor Manufacturers "Made in the USA"

“There aren't any gift and home decor products made in America anymore,” said a Gift & Decor industry marketing consultant in a position to know. “Everything's made overseas now, mostly in China.” Many others we talked to concur. There's no use looking for Made in USA products; they don't exist in this industry, says the conventional wisdom. It's too expensive to manufacture in the U.S.

But it isn't true!

Just in the relatively small universe of OmegaNet B2B web site clients, there are more than two dozen manufacturers who make all or most of their products in the United States. For example, Crown Mulling Spices of Alabama, which has had a link on GiftsWholesale.Com continuously since May, 1998, makes its product in the US.

The recent rash of recalls of products made in China has a lot of retailers asking about the availability of products Made in America.

Toymaker giant Mattel may have been hit hard by the China recall scandals (about 1.5 million toys recalled for lead-based paint), but Pennsylvania-based Channel Craft makes toys right at home so they know what materials are being used. Channel Craft's Vice President Jon Hogue was recently interviewed on the Fox News Channel, talking about their made-in-America, hand-crafted toys, games and puzzles. "What we are really geared towards," Hogue said, "are authentic toys, games and puzzles that are still manufactured right here in the U.S.A." (view video clip)   (read more)

Kiss Me In The Garden's factory is located in Northridge, California.

Our clear glass hearts are painted by a U.S. coating specialist and then returned to our Winter Park, Florida facility where our 'heart specialists' hand-set the Swarovski crystals, hand-tie the ribbons and bows, and imprint each heart with its individual name.” (read more)
